Phased Array Testing

Southern Inspection has a full array of inspection services for ultrasonic phased array testing. Southern Inspection is totally equipped with phased array for thickness measurement, weld inspections, manual UT-shear wave, etc. Services for Phased Array Testing and inspections include power plants, utilities, refineries, petrochemical plants, transmission towers etc,. Structures must meet regulated codes. Southern Inspection will detect defects and substandard structure due to fatigue, corrosion, wear, etc. in the welds. The applicable Codes for weld inspection are as follows:

ASME Section V, Article 4, 2010 ed. Ultrasonic Testing of Welds
ASME Section I, Boilers
ASME Section VIII, Pressure Vessels
ASME B31.1, Power Piping
ASME B31.3, Petrochemical Piping

AWS D1.1 Structural Steel

API RP2X

API 1104 PIPELINE CODE

Southern Inspection UT Shear Wave Phased Array.

UT Shear Wave Phased Array is now being used rather than radiography. Fabricated welds need to be inspected according to a specific ASME code. With UT Shear Wave Phased Array, the work area does not have to be interrupted for reasonings of harmful exposure. It compliments and facilitates the production process due to the elimination of work interruption that causes a delay of the job. UT inspection is the way to go in keeping of a very strict applicable code.
